Ezhumin (2018)

Ezhumin ("rise up") is a Tamil children's sports film about a band of youngsters who train in martial arts, boxing and other combat sports, pushed and encouraged by their parents. Comedian Vivek plays a warm, sporting father and Devayani his wife, and the first part of the film is about the joys and pressures of competitive sport for children. When the kids are threatened by criminals, the story turns into an adventure in which they have to rely on their training, their courage and each other. The film was made with a clear message about physical fitness and self-defence for children, and the young cast perform many of the action scenes themselves. It is a good family watch, especially for children who love sport.
