Lesa Lesa is Priyadarshan's Tamil remake of his own Malayalam hit Summer in Bethlehem (1998). Shaam plays a happy-go-lucky young man who spends a holiday with his uncle's large family, full of lively female cousins, while an anonymous admirer keeps sending him messages. He falls for the one played by Trisha, but she carries a past she has never spoken of, and the arrival of a stranger, played by R. Madhavan in an extended guest role, brings it to the surface. Vivek supplies the comedy. The film was among the first that Trisha shot, though delays meant it was released after several of her other films. Harris Jayaraj's songs, especially the title track, were popular.
