Bunny is a happy-go-lucky youth who works and fools around with his friends. Madhu is a medical student whose family has arranged for her to marry ACP Aravind, a powerful and possessive police officer. Desperate to escape, she accepts Bunny's help in a fake marriage plan, which puts both of them at the mercy of an officer who does not like to lose. As they keep up the pretence, the pair fall for each other for real. Happy was directed by A. Karunakaran, the maker of Tholi Prema, and Manoj Bajpayee's villainous ACP was one of his notable Telugu roles. The film was a big success in its Malayalam dubbed version, which helped make Allu Arjun popular in Kerala.
