U Turn (2016)

Rachana, an intern at a newspaper, is working on a story about people who move the concrete blocks on a Bengaluru flyover to make an illegal U-turn. She notes down their vehicle numbers and plans to interview them, but when one of the riders she tracks down turns up dead, she becomes the police's prime suspect. Working with a sympathetic officer, she discovers that every person on her list has died, and the explanation takes the story somewhere stranger than a simple crime. Pawan Kumar, the director of Lucia, made U Turn on a modest budget, and its tight plotting and Shraddha Srinath's assured lead performance made it a critical and commercial success. It was remade in Telugu and Tamil in 2018 with Samantha, and later in other languages.
