Naulakha Haar (1953)

Naulakha Haar ("the nine-lakh necklace") is a 1953 Hindi film from director Harsukh Jagneshwar Bhatt, starring Meena Kumari in the years when she was rising to the top after Baiju Bawra, with Jeevan, Hindi cinema's best-known screen schemer of the time, and Durga Khote. The title points to a precious necklace at the centre of the story. It is a lesser-known film of the period, of interest mainly to admirers of Meena Kumari and early-1950s cinema.
