Raam is a fun-loving student from a big, close-knit family who makes a habit of helping friends elope against their parents' wishes. On one such mission he ends up carrying off the wrong girl, Pooja, who is running away from a forced marriage arranged by her feuding uncles. Falling in love with her, Raam slips into her relatives' household in disguise and sets about outwitting the two rival brothers so that he can marry her with everyone's blessing. Raam is the Kannada remake of the Telugu hit Ready, which was also made in Hindi with Salman Khan, and it gave Puneeth Rajkumar a popular comic role opposite Priyamani. V. Harikrishna's songs were hits, and Rangayana Raghu leads the comic support.
