Rupinder Gandhi The Gangster is a Punjabi crime drama inspired by the real Rupinder Gandhi, a student leader from a village in Punjab whose involvement in campus politics and rivalries led him into the world of gangs and violence. Dev Kharoud plays the title role in a performance that made him a star of Punjabi action cinema, with Bunty Dhillon and Karamjeet Brar in support. The film explores how friendship, injustice and a sense of honour can push a young man onto a violent path. Its success led to a sequel, Rupinder Gandhi 2: The Robinhood, again with Dev Kharoud in the title role.
