Narasimha arrives in Kumbakonam with his infant son and no explanation, finds work with a respected local family and keeps his head down, even when local thugs push him. Yet trouble keeps finding him, and each clash shows that this mild man is far more dangerous than he looks. Slowly the film opens up his history in Visakhapatnam, his bond with Gowri, the woman he loved, and the sacrifice that made him leave everything behind. Jai Simha is a full-scale Balakrishna mass entertainer, with thunderous dialogue, big fight scenes and family sentiment, directed by veteran Tamil filmmaker K. S. Ravikumar, best known for his Rajinikanth films Muthu and Padayappa. It was a Sankranti release in January 2018 and reunited Balakrishna and Nayanthara after Simha and Sri Rama Rajyam.
