Faasla (1974)

Faasla ("distance") is a 1974 Hindi drama written and directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, the journalist, novelist and filmmaker known for socially committed cinema and for scripting many of Raj Kapoor's classics. It features Shabana Azmi in one of her first roles, from the same year as her breakthrough in Ankur, with Raman Khanna and Vinod Mehra. Like most of Abbas's work it is a low-budget film with a social message. Details of its story are scarce today, but it is of interest to followers of Abbas and early Shabana Azmi.
