Aaviri (2019)

Raj and Leena are still raw from the death of their elder daughter when they move into a large new home with their surviving younger girl, hoping for a fresh start. Soon odd things begin to happen: the child behaves strangely, objects move, and a presence seems to be attaching itself to her. As the parents try doctors, explanations and finally the supernatural, they are forced to confront what really happened to their family. Aaviri ("vapour") is a compact horror drama from Ravi Babu, the actor-director known for unusual genre films such as Anasuya and Avunu, who also plays the father here. It was presented by producer Dil Raju and relies more on mood and the parents' grief than on gore.
