On a journey Karan comes to the aid of Sahiba, a young woman returning home who is too afraid of her strict, tradition-bound father to reveal a painful secret. To protect her, Karan agrees to pretend he is her husband, and he is drawn into her large family, whose warmth and expectations make the deception harder to maintain, especially as he begins to fall for her for real. Dhai Akshar Prem Ke ("the two-and-a-half letters of love") is a Hindi romantic drama loosely inspired by the Hollywood film A Walk in the Clouds (1995). It was one of Abhishek Bachchan's earliest films and paired him with Aishwarya Rai, his future wife, for the first time, with Jatin–Lalit's songs.
