Jai is a carefree young man who falls head over heels for Neha. When a crisis puts Neha in danger, Jai agrees to pull off a crime to raise money, helped by Vikram, a smooth and dangerous stranger. The plan works, but Vikram is not who he seems, and Jai soon realises that the man who helped him is also in love with Neha. What begins as a romance turns into a thriller of betrayal and double-crosses. Fida was Ken Ghosh's second film after Ishq Vishk, again starring Shahid Kapoor, who was paired here with Kareena Kapoor for the first time; the two later starred together in Chup Chup Ke and Jab We Met.
