First Day First Show (2022)

A college student in a small Telugu town is a devoted fan of Pawan Kalyan and quietly in love with a classmate. When she asks him for tickets to the first-day first show of the star's new film Kushi, he promises, without any idea how he will get them, and so begins a chaotic chase through the town's ticket counters, fan associations, black-marketeers and family obligations. The film is a nostalgic comedy about the fan culture of Telugu cinema at the turn of the century, written in the absurd, deadpan style of Anudeep K. V., director of Jathi Ratnalu, who also provided the story. It is a light, good-natured film for anyone who has ever queued for a star's opening day.
