Ganesh, Diganth and Pawan Kumar reunite with director Yogaraj Bhat, fourteen years after the trio's hit Gaalipata (2008). They play three friends who, years after leaving it, find their way back to their college and to their eccentric, beloved Kannada teacher played by Ananth Nag. Romance, friendship, failure and second chances run through the story, which travels between Karnataka and abroad, as the friends look back on their youth and the lessons the old teacher tried to teach them. Gaalipata 2 is a spiritual successor rather than a direct sequel, written in Yogaraj Bhat's playful, poetic style. Arjun Janya composed the songs. It released in August 2022 and was a commercial success.
