Gajendra (2004)

Gajendra lives as a cheerful, devoted helper in a kindly household, especially caring for a young blind woman who depends on him. To outsiders he seems simple, but every so often he disappears to deal brutally with criminals, and he has his reasons. A flashback reveals another life in Kerala, a lost family and a debt of revenge. Gajendra is the Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster Simhadri (2003), which starred Jr. NTR and was directed by S. S. Rajamouli. Directed by Suresh Krissna of Baashha fame, the Tamil version recasts the story around Vijayakanth's star image.
