Gang of Ghosts (2014)

A struggling filmmaker looking for a story meets a mysterious stranger who tells him about an old mansion where a whole community of ghosts lives side by side, among them a silent-film actress, a zamindar, a soldier, a rock singer, a rickshaw-puller and more, each from a different period and with their own quarrels and quirks. When a property developer sets his sights on the house, the ghosts must put aside their differences and find a way to scare off the living. Gang of Ghosts is Satish Kaushik's Hindi remake of Anik Dutta's Bengali hit Bhooter Bhabishyat (2012), keeping its satire of greed and urban redevelopment. Parambrata Chatterjee, from the original, appears here too, with a large ensemble of comic actors around Sharman Joshi and Anupam Kher.
