Description

Sanjay suffers from short-term memory loss after a violent attack: every few minutes his memory resets, so he lives by Polaroid photos, scribbled notes and tattoos that tell him one thing above all, find Ghajini. In flashback we see who he was before: a wealthy businessman who fell for Kalpana, a cheerful struggling model, and hid his identity to win her. In the present, a medical student, Chitra, stumbles on his mission and begins to put the pieces together. Ghajini, inspired in part by Christopher Nolan's Memento, became one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2005 and cemented Suriya's stardom; Harris Jayaraj's songs, including Suttum Vizhi, were hugely popular. Murugadoss remade it in Hindi in 2008 with Aamir Khan and Asin, which became a record-breaking success.
