Ghar Parivaar (1991)

Ghar Parivaar ("home and family") is a 1991 Hindi family drama directed by Mohanji Prasad that brings together two romantic superstars of different generations, Rajesh Khanna and Rishi Kapoor, with Moushumi Chatterjee in a key role. As the title suggests, it is built around a household, its elders and its children, and the quarrels, misunderstandings and sacrifices that test family bonds. By the early 1990s Rajesh Khanna had moved into mature, senior roles, and films like this one gave him space for the emotional scenes he was known for. It is a typical family melodrama of its time, with songs and tears in equal measure, and is chiefly of interest for its veteran cast.
