In her village, Sakhi is known as Bad Luck Sakhi, the girl whose presence supposedly brings misfortune to everything from weddings to harvests. Her only real friend is Goli Raju, a cheerful theatre artist who loves her. When a retired army colonel arrives to find and train rural shooting talent, he spots in Sakhi a natural marksman, and she begins a journey towards competitive shooting, while a jealous rival and the village's prejudice stand in her way. Good Luck Sakhi was the first Telugu film of Hyderabad-born director Nagesh Kukunoor, best known for Hindi films such as Hyderabad Blues and Iqbal. It brought together Keerthy Suresh, fresh from her National Award for Mahanati, with Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu.
