H2O (2002)

Two men, one a Kannadiga and the other a Tamil, both fall in love with a young woman called Cauvery, and neither is willing to give her up. Their rivalry escalates from comedy to bitter conflict, and the young woman herself is pulled between them. H2O is Upendra's trademark mix of satire, eccentric humour and provocation: the love triangle is an open allegory of the long-running dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu over the waters of the Cauvery river, the title naming what the fight is really about. Upendra wrote the film and plays one rival, with dancer-actor Prabhu Deva as the other, a rare Kannada role for him. Priyanka Trivedi plays Cauvery; she and Upendra married soon after. In Hindi it is known as Dil Ki Dhadkan.
