Sonu and Monu are the troublemaking sons of a rich father who has run out of patience with them. Sent off to straighten up, the brothers instead fall for two sisters, Ritu and Pooja, and launch into a series of tricks, impersonations and mix-ups to win over the girls and their family, with Govinda in his element. Haseena Maan Jaayegi is one of David Dhawan's string of late-1990s comedies built around Govinda's improvisational energy, and it was a hit. Sanjay Dutt, usually seen in tough-guy roles, plays it straight as his partner in crime, and Kader Khan and Anupam Kher add to the chaos. Anu Malik's songs include the comic What Is Mobile Number.
