Description

An episode of Hatim, the Hindi fantasy-adventure serial broadcast on Star Plus from 2003. It retells the Qissa-i-Hatim Tai, the Persian and Urdu romance built around Hatim al-Tai — a chieftain of the Tayy tribe in pre-Islamic Arabia whose generosity became proverbial across Arabic, Persian and Urdu literature, to the point that "as generous as Hatim" survives as an idiom. In the serial, Prince Hatim of Yemen sets out to answer seven riddles, each answer requiring its own journey, in order to lift the curse the sorcerer Dajjal has laid on the land. The seven-quest structure is the spine of the original tale and the serial follows it episode by episode. Episode 40 of 47 held in this collection.
