Hattrick (2007)

As the 2007 Cricket World Cup grips India, three stories play out side by side. In one, a gruff doctor who has no patience for cricket finds the game becoming entangled with a patient's life. In another, a young husband is so obsessed with every match that his marriage begins to suffer. In the third, cricket fever reaches people far from the stadium in unexpected ways. Milan Luthria's ensemble film is a comedy-drama about what the sport means to Indians, timed to the tournament, though India's early exit from that World Cup took some of the shine off its release. Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal anchor the cast, and Pritam composed the music.
