In early-1970s Bangalore, Jayaraj is a tough young man with a sharp mind and a short fuse. Through political patronage, street fights and a growing band of loyal followers he becomes the most feared figure in the city, the man later remembered as its first underworld don, until his ambitions put him in the path of the very politicians who made him. Head Bush is based on the life of M. P. Jayaraj and written by Agni Shridhar, a former underworld figure turned writer whose books document that era. Dhananjaya, who also co-produced, plays Jayaraj, and the film recreates old Bangalore in detail. It was planned as the first of two parts.
