Shyam works the night shift at a call centre in Gurgaon, taking calls from American customers while his own life falls apart: the woman he loves is drifting away, his boss is a bully and his career is going nowhere. His colleagues are each fighting private battles too. On one particular night, when the office is about to face mass layoffs and a crisis on the road, the phone rings with a caller who claims to be God. Hello is the film of Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel One Night @ the Call Center, directed by Atul Agnihotri, with Sharman Joshi as Shyam. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif appear in special roles. The film was a box-office disappointment but remains a time-capsule of India's call-centre boom.
