HIT: The First Case (2020)

Vikram Rudraraju is the sharpest officer in Telangana's Homicide Intervention Team, but he is haunted by a childhood trauma that brings on panic attacks. He is pushed to take a break, until a young woman named Preethi disappears on a highway outside Hyderabad and the case lands on his desk. Soon after, his girlfriend Neha, who had been looking into the case, also goes missing. Vikram has to fight his own mind and his colleagues' doubts to follow a trail of clues to the truth. HIT was the debut of director Sailesh Kolanu, presented by actor Nani, and its tight procedural style made it a hit. Kolanu remade it in Hindi in 2022 with Rajkummar Rao, and it launched a franchise continuing with HIT: The Second Case and HIT: The Third Case.
