Captain Virat Bakshi comes home to Mumbai on leave, expecting a holiday of family visits and a match his parents have arranged with Saiba, a spirited boxer. Instead he witnesses a bus bombing and, catching one of those involved, realises that a terror network has planted sleeper agents across the city ahead of a series of attacks. Rather than wait for the system, Virat turns his leave into a covert mission, using his friends and his military training, and soon the shadowy mastermind starts hunting him in return. Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty is A. R. Murugadoss's Hindi remake of his Tamil hit Thuppakki (2012), and it was a big success for Akshay Kumar. Govinda appears in a small role as Virat's senior officer, and Freddy Daruwala made his debut as the villain.
