Hum Sab Ustad Hain is a 1960s Kishore Kumar comedy, made in the years when he was as famous for his madcap screen persona as for his voice. Directed by Maruti, it surrounds him with comic scrapes, a romance and a cast that includes the wrestler-actor Dara Singh. The film is best remembered for its music by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, then early in their career, and above all for the romantic song "Ajnabi tum jaane pehchane se lagte ho", which Kishore sang himself and which has remained a radio favourite for decades. For admirers of Kishore Kumar it offers both sides of his talent in one film: the rubber-faced comedian and the playback singer.
