Shiva, a software professional in Chennai, has had his heart broken before. When his parents arrange his marriage to Mylai, a traditional young woman, the two start getting to know each other through long phone conversations, and the subject of exes inevitably comes up. Shiva's story about Priya, his former girlfriend, and Mylai's own questions put the new relationship under strain long before the wedding. Pandiraj's light romantic comedy leans on talk, Soori's comedy and the chemistry of its leads. It drew a lot of attention for reuniting Silambarasan and Nayanthara on screen years after Vallavan and their much-publicised real-life relationship. The film took several years to complete, and its score was the debut of composer Kuralarasan, Silambarasan's younger brother.
