In the 23rd century, people travel to far-off colonies by 'slipstreaming', being beamed instantly across space. After a disaster at the distant mining outpost Infini, the only known survivor is Whit Carmichael, a rookie who has just been sent there, and a tactical team is dispatched to recover him and stop a lethal payload being sent back to Earth. The station they arrive in is full of signs that its crew went mad and killed each other, and the same force soon begins to work on the rescuers. Infini is an Australian science-fiction thriller written and directed by Shane Abbess, made in Sydney on a limited budget, and admired for its grimy, claustrophobic look. Daniel MacPherson leads the cast, with Luke Hemsworth, the elder brother of Chris and Liam, among the team.
