Late one night, Janaki, a young woman, walks into a police station in a hill town and tells the officers that she has committed a murder years ago and buried the body in the forest. The startled police take her into the forest to find it, and as the search goes on, her account and the officers' own past actions start to raise uncomfortable questions about what really happened and who is guilty. Ini Utharam (now, the answer) is a Malayalam investigative thriller that unfolds largely over a single night, and was the debut of director Sudheesh Ramachandran. Aparna Balamurali, who had won the National Film Award for Best Actress for Soorarai Pottru, leads the cast, with Harish Uthaman and Kalabhavan Shajohn as policemen.
