Dawood Ibrahim is an ordinary police inspector in Kerala whose name is a constant joke to everyone he meets, given that it is also the name of the notorious underworld don. He is more interested in a quiet life than in heroics, but a case involving local criminals forces him to step up. Inspector Dawood Ibrahim is an action comedy that plays on that central joke, with Jayasurya as the reluctant hero and Joju George among the supporting cast. It was the debut feature of Sajid Yahiya, who later directed the comedy Mohanlal (2018).
