Ishaara (1964)

Ishaara ("A signal" or "hint") is a 1964 Hindi romantic drama directed by K. Amarnath, pairing Joy Mukherjee, one of the breezy romantic heroes of the early 1960s, with Vyjayanthimala, then among the biggest female stars of Hindi cinema. Pran, the era's favourite screen villain, provides the menace. The story weaves romance together with a secret and a web of misunderstandings that threaten the lovers, in the melodramatic style of the period, with plenty of songs. It is a lesser-known film from its stars' careers, of interest mainly to admirers of 1960s Hindi cinema.
