Shankar is a loud, swaggering contract killer from the old city of Hyderabad who lives for his girlfriend Chandni and a good fight. After a political assassination goes wrong, he lands in the hands of a scientist who has found a way to transfer memories, and the memories of a dead undercover officer, Arun, who was close to exposing the conspiracy, are put into Shankar's head. Soon he is switching between his own rough instincts and the dead man's knowledge, with the killers now after him. Ram Pothineni reinvented his screen image with this role, speaking in a thick Telangana dialect, and Mani Sharma's songs were chartbusters. The film was a big box-office success that revived Puri Jagannadh's career and led to a sequel, Double iSmart (2024).
