Jai Veeru (2009)

Jai Veeru borrows its title from the legendary friendship of Jai and Veeru in Sholay (1975), and is the story of two close friends, played by Fardeen Khan and Kunal Khemu, whose loyalty to each other is tested when they become entangled with criminals. Dia Mirza and Anjana Sukhani play the women in their lives and Arbaaz Khan appears in a key role. The film mixes action, romance and buddy comedy in a slick, contemporary style. It drew attention mainly for its nod to Sholay, and is a straightforward entertainer for viewers who like friendship-centred action films.
