Jango (2021)

Dr. Deva begins reliving the same day over and over, each time with the memory of what happened before. At first it is baffling, then frightening, as he realises that events on that day are leading towards a tragedy involving his estranged wife, and that the loop may be his only chance to set things right. Using what he learns on every repeat, he pieces together a puzzle that links his own life to a larger scientific mystery. Jango was promoted as the first time-loop film made in Tamil, and it puts a domestic, emotional story at the centre of its science-fiction idea. It was the debut feature of director Mano Karthikeyan and gave newcomer Satheesh Kumar his first lead role, opposite Mrinalini Ravi.
