Jawaani (1984)

Jawaani ("Youth") is a 1984 Hindi romantic drama directed by Ramesh Behl, best remembered today as the debut film of Neelam, who soon became one of the most popular heroines of the 1980s in hits opposite Govinda. Her co-star Karan Shah was also launched by the film. The story is a love story of young people facing the obstacles their elders and circumstances put in their way, told with the energy and fashions of the mid-1980s. R. D. Burman composed the music, and the film's songs remain its strongest attraction for fans of 1980s Hindi film music.
