Two friends work together in a Mumbai ad agency and share one great passion: the music of R. D. Burman. Their amateur band keeps losing the big annual music contest, and this time they are determined to win, even as their lives get complicated: one is anxious about becoming a father, the other's marriage is in trouble, and a younger colleague is falling in love. Sujoy Ghosh's debut is a warm, funny film about friendship and growing up late, with an affectionate tribute to Pancham running through it. Vishal–Shekhar's soundtrack was a breakthrough for the duo, and KK's "Tu Aashiqui Hai" became a hit.
