Nihal Singh is a simple, big-hearted constable in a small Punjab town. When an international terrorist called Romeo uses his kindness to slip out of custody, Nihal is disgraced. Determined to clear his name, he follows the trail to New York, where, far from home and out of his depth, he teams up with American agents and takes on the terrorist in his own blunt, fearless way. Sunny Deol's mix of comedy, patriotism and action is the film's main draw, and the villain was played by Kamaal Khan. The film ran into protests from some Sikh groups who objected to its title, taken from the Sikh battle cry, and in May 2005 bombs exploded in two Delhi cinemas that were showing it.
