Johny, a cheerful, carefree young man from a middle-class Bangalore neighbourhood, lives for his friends and his fun until he meets Priya, a confident, well-off young woman who wants nothing to do with him. Determined to win her over, he tries every trick he knows, and the pursuit turns into a playful contest of wills full of comic run-ins, songs and the occasional fight, before more serious obstacles test whether their attachment is real. Directed by Preetham Gubbi, writer of the hit Mungaru Male, the film was a deliberate change of image for Duniya Vijay, who was known for rough action roles, here cast as a light romantic hero opposite Ramya, one of the most popular Kannada heroines of the time. V. Harikrishna composed the songs.
