K100 is Reykjavik's feelgood pop station on 100.5 FM, operated by Arvakur, the company behind the mbl.is news site. Everything on air is in Icelandic, from the weekday wake-up show Island vaknar to Thor Baering's afternoon run and the Sunday shows, so this is a presenter-led local station rather than an unattended jukebox of English-language hits. The playlist leans on chart pop and familiar hits from the 1990s onward, and the station keeps a standing slot for brand new Icelandic releases that artists can submit to it directly. Between songs the talk is light: games, listener challenges and international pop and television gossip.
