KA (2024)

Abhinaya Vasudev grew up in an orphanage, longing for letters from a family he never had. As an adult he becomes the temporary postman of Krishnagiri, a remote village where it grows dark by afternoon, and he quietly reads the letters he delivers. One of them hints at something terrible, and he realises that people in the area have been vanishing. Interwoven with this is a strange present-day frame in which a masked figure interrogates him. KA was a sleeper hit for Kiran Abbavaram in 2024, praised for its atmosphere, its period village setting and a climax that reframes the whole story. The directing duo Sujith and Sandeep made their debut with it.
