Puli Pandi is a simple, good-hearted man who used to perform the traditional puli vesham tiger dance and now does odd jobs in a small town. He is liked by all but taken seriously by none. When a respected figure commits an unspeakable act against a young girl, the town's people, including those who should act, prefer to look away to protect their own interests. Pandi, with his quiet decency, decides he cannot. Kadugu ("mustard seed", suggesting something small but potent) was written, directed and shot by Vijay Milton, the cinematographer-director of Goli Soda, and gave director Rajakumaran an unusual lead role as an actor. Bharath plays a conflicted young man, and the film handles a painful subject with restraint.
