Nanjankotta is a town where the police have given up and a political party's strongmen run everything. When a new circle inspector is posted there, the locals expect him to fall in line like everyone before him. He has other ideas, and he is as willing to use force as the men he is up against. Kalki was Tovino Thomas's first full-blown mass police role, a deliberate shift from the gentler parts that made him popular, and is notable for its moody, rough look and Jakes Bejoy's background score. It marked the feature debut of director Praveen Prabharam. Samyuktha Menon plays a doctor in the town.
