Raghava is a cameraman at a TV channel and, as in the earlier films of the series, a man so scared of the dark that he sleeps clinging to his mother. To lift ratings, his producer Nandini plans a ghost show filmed at an empty beach bungalow, using a fake spirit. The spirit turns out not to be fake: a woman's ghost with an old score to settle begins to take hold of the crew, and Raghava is the one she wants. As the haunting deepens, the film reveals Ganga, a disabled woman whose story explains the revenge. Kanchana 2 is the third film in Raghava Lawrence's Muni horror-comedy series, after Muni and Kanchana, and it was one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2015, with Nithya Menen widely praised as Ganga.
