Kazhugu (2012)

Kazhugu ("eagle") is set in the misty hills of Kodaikanal, where the steep cliffs claim lives every year. A small group of young men, led by Krishna's character, make their living climbing down into the ravines to bring up the bodies of the dead, a grim trade they treat with gallows humour. When a young woman whose family has suffered such a loss crosses their path, a romance begins that changes how the hero sees his work. Sathyasiva's film was noted for its unusual setting and subject, its hill-country atmosphere and Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs, and it did well enough to lead to a sequel, Kazhugu 2, with the same lead pair.
