Kismath (2016)

Vinay has lost his job and owes money to a feared moneylender, who gives him a deadline he cannot meet. On the same day his girlfriend runs away from home to be with him, and a series of coincidences pulls together petty thieves, the loan shark, the police and a gang of crooks into one tangled mess. Kismath is a Kannada remake of the Malayalam hit Neram (2013) by Alphonse Puthren, and marked the directing debut of actor Vijay Raghavendra, who also plays the lead. Like the original, it is a fast, quirky comedy-thriller about luck and timing, in which everything that can go wrong does. Sangeetha Bhat plays the girlfriend.
