Circle Inspector Veera Shankar is fearless, short-tempered and impossible to bribe, which is why he keeps being transferred. In Ongole he runs into Katari, a gangster who has ruled the area for years through fear and whose grip no officer has broken. Three seemingly unconnected incidents link the hero and the villain, and the clash becomes personal. Director Gopichand Malineni said the story drew on real incidents from the Ongole region. Ravi Teja returns to his high-energy cop persona, Samuthirakani and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar make a menacing pair of antagonists, and S. Thaman's music, especially Bhoom Bhaddhal, was popular. Released at Sankranti in January 2021, it was one of the first big hits in Telugu cinemas after the pandemic shutdown.
