Kutti Puli has grown into a hot-headed brawler whom everyone in the area fears, though he is devoted to his widowed mother. When a gentle young woman moves in nearby, he softens and falls for her, but his old quarrels and the enemies he has made do not go away so easily. This was M. Muthaiah's debut as a director, setting the template of rural Madurai-belt family action he would return to in Komban and Kodiveeran. Sasikumar, already popular for Subramaniapuram and Sundarapandian, was well suited to the role, and Saranya Ponvannan's mother is the emotional centre of the film. It was a box-office success.
