Description

Laadla ("the beloved son") is a 1966 Hindi family drama directed by the Tamil duo Krishnan–Panju, who made many Hindi films for southern studios in the 1960s. Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy head the cast in a story about a child given away to a sister who cannot have children of her own, and the emotional tug-of-war that follows as he grows up between two families. It is a sentimental, old-style family film built on sacrifice and parental love. Little else about it is widely documented. A gentle watch for lovers of 1960s family melodrama.
